Dr. Mark Franklin is an esteemed professor and researcher in international politics. He has held various teaching positions at prestigious universities such as Trinity College Connecticut, the University of Houston, the University of Strathclyde, and the University of Sydney. In addition, he has held positions at renowned institutions like the European University Institute, Nuffield College, the Netherlands Institute for Advanced Study, and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Franklin received his Ph.D. from Cornell University and his B.A. from Oxford University. He has been a Guggenheim Fellow at Harvard University and a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Iowa. His expertise includes British, European, and American government and political economy, political methodology, and the attitudes and behavior of elites and the mass public.

Dr. Franklin is a professor with expertise in British, European, and American government, political economy, political methodology, and the attitudes and behavior of elites and the mass public. He received a significant grant from the European Union in 2008 to lead a collaborative infrastructure design study called “Providing an Infrastructure for Research on Electoral Democracy in the European Union” (PIREDEU). This study laid the foundation for the Monitoring Electoral Democracy (MEDem) infrastructure project, where Dr. Franklin serves on the Steering Committee. He has played key roles in various political research organizations and has published numerous books, chapters, articles, and reports in prestigious journals.
